Virtual tours builder's kit
The kit of modules to create and manage
interactive virtual tours on web sites
About modules in PanoModules kit
Each module is a Flash object, purposed for its own functions, embedding into a web page. It haven't fixed size or mandatory position, you can set it freely by define it's container with common HTML (XHTML).
Modules interact with each other, every one reacts to defined events in others. (Pro and Base versions only). For example: you click on hotspot in the map module, then the panoramic module loads linked panorama, and after that the map module shows dynamic field of vision depending on loaded panoramas parameters and position.
Modules available now
Modules under development
All these modules will be available for free as part of PanoModules and compatible with all other modules.
Spherical panoramic module
Displays spherical (cubic) panoramas.
The current version of panoramic module works with cylindrical panoramas, there is no possibility to look directly up and down. New type of module will show spherical panoramas with full vertical angle of view. Nevertheless, it will not cancel the support of cylindrical panoramas, because it is much more easy to prepare panoramic stuff for that.
Sound module
Plays and manages sound in a virtual tour.
Google Map module
It integrates the Google Map service for virtual tours.
1. Panoramic module
Displays cylindrical panoramas with tunable compensatory distortion. (Also it can display usual
Panoramic views can contain hotspots with different actions performed on click. You can attach any images (including those with transparency) and custom interactive Flash files as hotspots and configure each hotspot separately: assign actions on click, “bubble tip”, set visual effects.
2. Map module
Displays custom maps, floor plans etc. It also supports hotspots like panoramic module.
The most often manner of using map hotspot is load panorama in panoramic module by click on it. In this case, map hotspot can show dynamic field of vision corresponding with panoramas parameters and position.
3. Thumbnails module
Displays thumbnails with different actions performed on click. There are may be thumbnails of different panoramic views or floor plans or something else.
This module can be initialized as horizontal (as here) or vertical, it defined automatically by height and width of it's container.

Benefits and Features
Creation of virtual tours
- Build complex virtual tour of any configuration only with your favorite HTML and CSS tools within typical web design workflow. To build a complex online virtual tour with PanoModules is not harder than to place several DIVs on a page.
- There are no restrictions for layout, structure, and visual style of a virtual tour. Modules have no fixed make-up, size, or position, so you can organically build them into any web page and create any visual style with CSS. It means, you can make a virtual tour just as you want.
- No additional scripting or sophisticated HTML needed in usual cases. All functionality and interaction mechanism are completely encapsulated in modules.
Management of virtual tours
- Manage content of your virtual tour online in-place. Modules have special embedded content management system. The server-side part of this system is open and can be adapted or fully rewritten as you need. (Pro version only).
- Edit your virtual tour without changing HTML code. All content and preferences are described in XML files with simple, readable and editable format.
- Rebuild your virtual tour, remove or add new modules without changing existing content. New and upgraded modules are free and always available for download.
- Your virtual tour is completely yours. It resides on your web site and all its files hosted on your server. You can manage it so as you wish.
Entertainment
- Panoramic scenes and maps can contain hotspots of several types with different actions performed by click. You can attach any image or Flash file as hotspots, assign actions, "bubble tips" and visual effects on mouse over for each hotspot separately.
- Tunable compensatory distortion for cylindrical panoramas allows displaying correct panoramic view. You can tune it interactively depending on panorama's geometry, turn it off and on.
- The panoramic module can be used as slide-show and display usual non-panoramic images. (Just consider them as narrow-angled panoramas without compensatory distortion needed). Hotspots are still fully available in this mode.
- The map module can display dynamic field of vision related to current view in panoramic module. (Pro and Base versions only).
Advanced
- Interaction with JavaScript gives more customizing possibilities for advanced virtual tour developers. You can start some modules actions via simple JavaScript calls (for example, with use of standard UI controls) and receive calls from any module when some event occured in it. (Pro and Base versions only).
System requirements
A virtual tour, created with PanoModules, requires Adobe Flash player 8 or higher and JavaScript available in user's browser. PanoModules Pro uses PHP scripts on the server for content management.
